Heaven forbid, if you died as soon as you clicked off this site, are you 100% sure you’d be in paradise with Jesus?
If you’re not 100% sure you’re going to heaven…
…then come, let us reason together, He says. Perhaps these same Frequently Asked Questions about Christians have been causing you to hesitate.
QUESTION: Is Jesus really the only way to heaven? What about all the Muslims, Buddhists and others?
ANSWER: This [Jesus] is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner [the Cornerstone]. And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. (Acts 4:11-12 Amplified Bible)
QUESTION: Yeah, I believe in Jesus already — what else do I have to do? What’s this “saved” business?
ANSWER: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (New International Version)
QUESTION: The Christians I’ve seen are hypocritical, judgmental and preachy. I don’t want to be like that!
ANSWER: God doesn’t want us to be that way either! Some Christians think that putting on a “holy front” will make them seem holy — or think that’s how they are supposed to act. But giving our lives to the Lord and letting Him take the wheel is a process…only One Perfect man walked this earth.
Paul wrestled with the same thing in his letter to the Romans: “I can anticipate the response that is coming: “I know that all God’s commands are spiritual, but I’m not. Isn’t this also your experience?” Yes. I’m full of myself—after all, I’ve spent a long time in sin’s prison. What I don’t understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise. So if I can’t be trusted to figure out what is best for myself and then do it, it becomes obvious that God’s command is necessary.”
But in Romans 7:25 he realized Jesus helps us, if we let Him, to do better.
QUESTION: Whatever happens after we die, I’ll deal with it then.
ANSWER: Chose today who you’re gonna serve, because one minute after you die, it’ll be too late — like the guy who begged to get out of the agony of hell.
QUESTION: Hell doesn’t sound all that bad. Heck, Tucker Max hopes they serve beer there.
ANSWER: I used to downplay how horrible hell must be. But reading some of these accounts about heaven and hell truly changed my life:
QUESTION: Do you really believe in all those fairy tales?
ANSWER: God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Just trust Him. He’s sending this clarion call of Jesus to you now for a reason.
QUESTION: Don’t all paths lead to God?
ANSWER: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6 (New American Standard Bible)
QUESTION: What if I don’t feel God?
ANSWER: Pray and ask Him to come close. Draw near to God and He’ll draw near to You.
QUESTION: How could God let all these bad things happen?
ANSWER: I don’t know. Although sometimes us Christians act like we know every little and big thing, we don’t. But one day we will. And I want to be on the beautiful side of that “chasm fixed” when we all find out.
